TransLoc
JHU Transportation Services has partnered with TransLoc to provide real-time bus and shuttle tracking information as well as booking access to on-demand Blue Jay shuttle services. Download the TransLoc app to book a ride or see real-time tracking information. You can also visit http://ondemand.transloc.com to book an on-demand Blue Jay Shuttle ride or check out http://jhu.transloc.com to view real-time vehicle tracking information.
Transloc has some quick tutorials that help users learn how to set up and use the app here and here.
Tips & Troubleshooting:
- When setting up your Transloc account in the app, we can best serve you if you use your JHU or JHMI-affiliated email and a valid 10-digit phone number.
- When booking rides for on-demand Blue Jay Shuttle service, keep in mind there are two service regions that operate under different guidelines. Homewood NightRide offers on-demand, point-to-point service between any two addresses within the service area. Blue Jay Shuttle To & From Campus offers on-demand, point-to-point service between residences within the service area and a hub/campus location (denoted by the blue pins on the service map). To successfully book a Blue Jay Shuttle To & From Campus ride, one of the addresses in the trip must contain a hub/campus location, otherwise an error message will appear.
- On-demand Blue Jay Shuttle service is administered by JHU, not JHMI. To see the Blue Jay service offering in the app, you must be sure that you have Johns Hopkins University (as opposed to Johns Hopkins Medical Institute) ‘visible’ as one of your agency preferences. To do this, go to ‘Settings’ at the bottom right of the app, select ‘Agency Preferences’, and either search or scroll to find Johns Hopkins University. Select ‘Visible’ and you should be presented with a view of this service option. After completing this, you should be able to book a ride!
